Baptism

'Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit ' Matt 28:19

Baptism

Baptism is the Sacrament in which we celebrate God’s gift of eternal life to our children. In this Sacrament we, the Christian community, welcome them with great joy. We promise to help them by word and example to live the faith which we share with them. That is why when  we are gathered around the baptismal font, we renew the promises that were made on our behalf when we were Baptised, and which we made for ourselves when we were confirmed.

What’s Involved?

A copy of the child’s Birth Certificate is required to complete the booking. New Baptism teams have recently taken over the baptism preparation programme. Therefore, in order to facilitate this initiative bookings must be made at least one month in advance.

Also, Godparents / Sponsors must be over the age of 16, Catholic, and Confirmed. In addition, a Baptism Candle is required for the Ceremony, and may be purchased in the Liturgical Centre, or elsewhere.

2nd Sunday of the month: Our Lady, Queen of Peace, Coosan, 1pm
