Welcome to St.Mary's Parish Athlone

St. Mary's Parish is the parish on the east side of the river Shannon in the town of Athlone, Co. Westmeath. We are in the diocese of Ardagh & Clonmacnois: we have two churches - St. Mary’s in the centre of the town and Our Lady, Queen of Peace on the outskirts in Coosan. Both our churches remain open each day for personal prayer during these difficult times. Make Your Offering Parish Announcements

COOSAN CHURCH:

Work on installing the new heating system will begin on Monday 9th September and will take a number of weeks. The church will be available for 7pm Mass each day and for weekend Masses.

However it will be closed to the public during the times the work is being carried out. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

DIVINE MERCY PRAYER GROUP:

Due to the works taking place in Our Lady, Queen of Peace Church,
Coosan. Divine Mercy will now take place in St. Mary’s Church for the next few weeks.

Prayers will be recited on Wednesdays at 3.00 pm. All are welcome.

MASS OF ANOINTING:

Will take place in St. Mary’s Church on Saturday morning next 14th September at 10.30 am. We invite those who are sick, infirm, elderly, preparing for or recovering from surgery to join us for the Anointing of the Sick during the Mass.

If you know of someone in your family or neighbourhood who might like to receive the anointing of the sick, perhaps you might mention it to them or give them a lift to the Mass.

Please note that there will be no 9.30 am. Mass on Saturday 14th September. Please join us for a cup of tea afterward in the Clonmacnois Room, St. Mary’s Presbytery.
